What is ATHX and how to prepare for ATHX 2026

ATHX is ATHLEX's fitness competition. This guide explains the format, categories (ATHX and ATHX PRO), and how to build an ATHX programming plan that gets you to the podium.

The ATHX format

ATHX combines three blocks: Strength, Endurance, and MetCon X. Each block measures a different capacity and is scored independently. The winner is who performs most balanced across all three.

What serious ATHX programming looks like

Well-designed ATHX programming periodizes into 4 phases: BASE, BUILD, PEAK, and DELOAD. Load increases progressively by RPE and % 1RM, with unload weeks to arrive fresh at competition.

ATHX training must include the year's movements from week 1 — if you arrive at competition with questionable technique, you won't compensate with volume.

What is ATHX?+

ATHX is the fitness competition organized by ATHLEX. It brings together strength tests, endurance events, and mixed competitions (MetCon X) in a 3-day format. It's open to athletes from Spain and Latin America.

What are the ATHX events?+

ATHX is divided into three blocks: Strength (max strength), Endurance (endurance), and MetCon X (mixed events with weighted and gymnastics movements). The cycle culminates in a simulation of all 3 blocks.

Difference between ATHX and ATHX PRO?+

ATHX is the open category. ATHX PRO increases volume and intensity for competitive athletes: longer sessions, higher loads, and stricter movement standards.

How do I prepare for ATHX?+

With sport-specific ATHX programming: periodization in BASE, BUILD, PEAK, and DELOAD, calibrated by RPE and % 1RM. ATHLEX Training delivers a weekly plan Monday through Sunday, warm-up, strength and MetCon each day, plus direct chat with coach.
